Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to book in advance?
A: When it comes to places to eat in Kununurra, the Gourmet Camp Oven Experience is an extremely popular Kununurra 'restaurant' that can sell out in advance. Spaces are extremely limited for this Kununurra dining option so please book as soon as you know the date you can join us.
Q: Where does your experience depart from?
A: We are based in Kununurra, the East Kimberley, Western Australia and depart and return to Kununurra hotel accommodation and caravan parks only. Please note we are no longer located at Discovery Lake Argyle Caravan and Holiday Park.
Q: What are the vegetarian options for the Gourmet Camp Oven Experience?
A: Yes. For the entree we can swap the barramundi for grilled haloumi. For the main course we can swap the pork belly for a delicious camp oven pizza (wild hibiscus, brie and sunflower seed garnished with tomato and basil). The remainder of the dishes remain the same.
Q: I don't eat pork but still would like meat as my main course?
A: Not a worry, we can do you flame grilled chicken instead! Please make note of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Q: I would like to bring an infant/child under 4 years old, can they join us?
Yes they can! As every child is different, if your child is under 4, you can choose whether they partake in the four-course dinner or whether you would like to bring your own food for them/they can also eat off your plate. If your child would like to join in for the four-courses, they pay the price for a child. Children under 4 will need to sit on your lap for the drive to the dining location. Please contact us to let us know if you are wanting to bring an infant as the drive has a short bumpy section and music is played in the car. With notice we can also have a highchair ready for you.
Q: Do you cater for dietary requirements?
A: Yes we do! We cater for gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan. We try to cater for all other dietary requirements as best as we can. Please Contact Us to discuss any other dietary requirements.
Q: Are you able to accommodate guests who are in wheelchairs?
A: Yes. Guests who are in wheelchairs can either be helped into the front seat of our vehicle and their wheelchair can be folded up and stowed in our vehicle or they are more than welcome, if more comfortable, to follow in their own vehicle behind our vehicle out to the secret dining spot. For more information on accessibility please Contact Us or visit ATIC Accessibility (qualitytourismaustralia.com)
Q: Can guests who are deaf join?
A: Yes. We will have the entire menu and all the evening's dialogue printed out for you.
Q: Can we BYO drinks on the Gourmet Camp Oven Experience?
A: Yes. We provide one complimentary alcoholic ginger beer on arrival to enjoy as the sun sets. You are welcome to bring your own esky. Ice and water are provided.
